Changing and Testing 4G Bands

Your modem may not automatically connect to the 4G band with the highest download bandwidth in your area. To test individual 4G bands, follow the procedure below:

1) Open a web browser and visit http://192.168.8.1. The password for login is printed on the modem label.

2) From the Internet tab, go to AT Command.

3) Click on the dropdown menu for the Shortcut box and select Set Band.

4) Select the band you want to test.

Verizon Bands: 2, 4, & 13

AT&T Bands:  2, 4, 12, 30 & 66

5) Click Send and wait 30 seconds.

Note: It is useful to test the speeds of each band you connect to by visiting https://www.speedtest.net/. You may want to write the download and upload speeds down for reference as you test each band. If the modem does not connect to the internet after setting a new band, it means that band is not offered in your area. If this happens, try setting a different band to get the modem to re-connect. You can revert the modem to the default band settings by selecting default_band in the Band dropdown menu and clicking Send.
